Intro to Gears

Service Description

5 brightly colored gears and a white board. Learners can arrange and rearrange their gears and learn vocabulary like "gear meshing", "gear teeth", "drive gear" and "follower gear." After some individual exploration, learners can line up their white boards and create longer drive trains by combining their kit with a friend's. If using with older learners you can begin to talk about gear ratio and how drivers and driven gear can be used to gear up or gear down speed and power based on the number of teeth in a particular gear.
